INDORE: Indore Police have launched a massive exercise to “profile” all places of worship so that they can swoop down fast and hard on anyone trying to disturb peace.
Police will widen CCTV surveillance and set up dedicated control rooms at six major religious institutions — Khajrana Ganesh Temple, Bijasan Tekri, Annapurna Temple, Ranjeet Hanuman Temple, Bada Ganpati and Nahar Shah Wali Khajrana Dargah to keep tabs on suspicious activities.

“After places of worship, we will also bring buildings of sensitive institutions, like the district court, high court and Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) under the programme,” DC (intelligence and security) Rajat Saklecha told TOI.
“The profiling or security audit is being done at over 1,550 religious institutions or places of worship — including temples, mosques, gurudwaras and churches — to improve security and surveillance, and foil any attempt to disturb communal harmony or peace in the area,” said DC Saklecha.
